The people have spoken, they have voted in polls, the scientists have put forward their accurate results, people have traveled almost as far away as you can get in Florida, individuals have organized, people have protested, and lawsuits have been filed.
The Naples Daily News poll recorded 92% votes against the bear family killings, the independent Remington Research Group found 81% are against the upcoming December 6th bear slaughter.
The Florida people are ignored as bear families face an unprecedented hell world of hurt.
The children and teens who are part of Be an Animal Hero are heartbroken, the people who have fought so hard are stricken- I wake up at 4 am and think about it- meanwhile bear families have no idea of the slow, grisly deaths the hunter/land developer FWC commissioners have planned for them.
Black bears are going into their lethargic hibernation period, their bodies slow down, including the cubs who are cared for by their mothers for 2-3 years.
At a check station in the last bloody spree one bear killer laughed about how he had to tear a cub off the body of their dead mother. I thought at the time the trophy “hunt” couldn’t get any more disgustingly cruel, I was wrong.
Luring bears with food, playing recordings of cubs calling out for help, using automatic bows and arrows. No check stations, no oversight, a trophy hunter can simply email the FWC and say, “killed a bear’’.
In two days, last time an approximate 304 bears were killed, the first was a lactating female. It was the animal activists who were monitoring the check stations who demanded the close after the “limit” was reached, way earlier than planned.
Who can stop the impending bear massacre?
The same person who appointed the hunter/land developers and put those who kill for fun in charge of deciding who to kill.
Governor DeSantis.
